Sad day, but Dana Larsen's lifetime of political activism will carry on. His shops will be raided again, he'll probably be arrested more etc. Haha - what a man!

He operated Vancouver's longest running compassion club for medical marijuana for cancer/aids patients etc for decades before marijuana was eventually legalized - first with access via prescription, and then recreational use in 2017. He's since turned his efforts to magic mushrooms and pushing for their legalization. His shops also sell other psychedelics etc. I stopped in at the main one on Hastings street one time just to check it out. Bit of a shame if they're shut down - never did buy/try anything from there, but they sell some things I'd be interested in trying for the heck of it.

Magic mushrooms are such a joke to be illegal IMO. They're proven to literally be the safest recreational drug known to mankind - And are used medicinally and ceremonially. They should be legal, prescribed, available for s**ts & giggles in stores or home grown or purchased from foraging hippies at the beach etc etc.

This is far from the end of Dana Larsen's protest enterprise. Same for the other 1/2 dozen or so mushroom dispensary storefronts that have popped up all over town since the weed business changed and went licenced. They'll keep popping up like mushrooms lol and once in a blue moon police will go swat them down.. and then they'll be back, rinse & repeat until there's a full legalization scheme in place for people to buy or grow them whenever they feel like. Might take years yet, but changes to ridiculous prohibition laws tend to take time. Thankfully we have good humans like Dana willing to do the work it takes to be a thorn in the government's side until good change happens.
