What sort of age is vintage? We have on on our house that was typically sold in the 1970's and dissapeared around the early '80's, though it may have been around before the 1970's.
Is just a simple single tone bell that a solenoid hits back and fore to ring it, with two D sized batteries in a purposfully made enclosure, but the 1970's bell we had on the last house was two tone and had a secondary tone of dual tone compared to if one rang the front door bell or the back door bell, and it was run from a 12v transformer.
