Once I was asked "Have you ever given any thought to if you might be autistic?" Is that close enough for me to have a nickel or at least a penny?

Now you know what you gotta do.
Charge a dime for an answer
Put it in a high interest savings account

You may end up with enough cash to buy an ice cream

I wouldn't have money because no one even thought I might be on the spectrum until 2001. How could they? I was an adult woman for crying out loud!

But the clues were all there: My intense interests in drawing cartoons, collecting troll dolls, and Disney animation. My preferences for practical clothing. My lack of ability or desire to socialize or show empathy. The way I kept saying cringey things and not realize it was wrong until I got chewed out for saying them. Being fond of animals, and role-playing with dolls and stuffed animals even as a teen and a young adult because it was so much easier and more fun than interacting with other humans. Sometimes I wonder how my life would have turned out if people realized I had Asperger's or ASD or whatever when I was still a kid or even a teen, and would it have gone better?

Does hearing the words “That makes sense” after you tell people count?

I got thaf, and "I'm not surprised", and "I've known you were autistic for years"
