What is the most extreme example of a time when you lost your work?

For example, a power outage occured when I was in the computer lab trying to do the Managerial Accounting quiz

Microsoft Update.

I once deleted the company's entire Git repo. Yes, at the server end.

Happily we'd made a backup two hours previously.

I got Git-shamed for that, incidentally. The log message on the restore commit read 'Restored the repo after James deleted it'.

I lost report cards I'd written for 180 graduating AP students, the night before they were due.
Those grades needed to be sent to Universities for admission by the deadline.
They had taken me about 40 hours to write.

I think it had something to do with a floppy disk.
I can't remember.
