I'm applying for this paid internship and one of my professors said she'd be a reference for me! Which is so great because she's actively working in the field that I'm applying for. I'm proud that I was brave enough to ask her and that I'm becoming more confident about employment in general. Just a little happy news I thought I'd share. There's hope for us all yet!

Good for you. When I was in college I didn't understand the concept of developing contacts. Even if I did, I probably wouldn't have had the guts to ask for help (one of my problems that I'm working on).
