I have full blown conversations with myself, ever since childhood. definitely more than just talking to myself. does anyone else do this? ( this is more than just talking to yourself).

mentally yes,
it's good to bounce ideas off myslef or investigate how i feel at the current time
i think of it as an interview, where i have to work hard to articulate my thoughts into coherent sentences that i can act on

i dont have these conversations out loud, because in my mind i can be unfiltered without worry of being overheard.

one of my good friends does this , always has. Her mind never shuts down and if there is nobody else to bounce off her thoughts and ideas, she talks to herself. I think it helps her with processing and possible memory struggles.

Sure, I do that sometimes. One of my sons does it all the time at home. He can usually control himself to not do it in public. We're both extroverted. Are you an extrovert?

I suspect that it's an adaptation for the need to share our thoughts but not having someone available or suitable to listen. Or it's just one of those "I think as I talk" thing. It helps to clarify the thoughts.
