BTW the book the AI (played by Anna De Armas) was holding is "Pale Fire" by Vladimir Nabakov. The choice of book was made by Ridley Scott (of Alien fame) in his original 1982 version of the movie Bladerunner.

The AI quotes 3 lines from the book which are used to mind control K (the clone played by Ryan Gosling)
Cells interlinked within cells interlinked
Within one stem. And dreadfully distinct
Against the dark, a tall white fountain played.

I am not sure what the significance is? but Nabakov once said this about loneliness
“Loneliness as a situation can be corrected, but as a state of mind it is an incurable illness.”
