Is G4 MLP a baby show?

The Nintendo fanboys around me say G4 MLP is a baby show, just said it was shown at daycare and once compared it to Teletubbies (which I also like but I love Boohbah more to be unique and I also love Nanalan). This breaks my heart as it was my childhood and I noticed some pretty mature topics, such as the Tirek battle (trust me, watch this), a BSDM pillow joke and Trixie attempting. In fact there is an entire video about this that I will link later. Thoughts?

I don’t think it’s a baby show. I’m more into Gen 3 My Little Pony. Friendship is Magic does have mature themes like Discord brainwashing the ponies. Reminds me of manipulation. In my opinion most kid’s shows have adult and mature topics. Like in Hey Arnold where Helga goes into therapy.

Other than My Little Pony, Courage The Cowardly Dog has very mature themes. Such as the Kitty and Bunny and the one where people are being used for growing and harvesting hair.

I wouldn't say that FiM is a "baby" show by any means. It's not super mature or anything either. It's in line with other "older kids" kinda cartoons (like The Powerpuff Girls back from my time). Don't know why people would call it a "baby" show? Have they even watched cartoons aimed at toddlers and such?

I have come to my conclusion: it IS for babies, and will always be. It's more of a baby show than Looney Tunes somehow, if not just as babyish.

Why do you keep being around people like that lol

Don't laugh at me... I didn't grow up on anything good, and my family banning me from Nickelodeon is probably why I was bullied as early as kindergarten which caused me to be the weird kid I am today...

I just think you're wasting your time caring about what negative people say online about shows. Just watch them for yourself and see what you like.

Istg if these Nintendo fanboys compare G4 MLP to Teletubbies one more time (they also say Care Bears, another part of my childhood, is a baby show but that can also be loved by anyone) I will explode. I don't even want to hear what they think of Sanrio or LPS...

Why does it matter what these individuals think? I've seen a couple posts from you with similar questions... It really doesn't matter if a show is for children or not. You can like whatever you like. It doesn't matter if other people think they are childish or babyish.

I love MLP Friendship is Magic, and I'm a grown a** adult that pays rent and has a big girl job. My parents make fun of me for my childish interests (squishmallows, stuffed animals, MLP, cartoons, etc.) and I let it roll off my back because their opinion of my interests DOESN'T MATTER!

You can't control what other people think. You CAN control your own reaction to their opinions. Make like a duck--let it roll off your back.

I swear I'm going to tell this fanboy one day that the Marios were in a MLP Comic... and it was the old school version >:3

The concept of 'baby' shows are ageist in nature. People should be able to watch whatever they want without the stigma of "appropriate" age.

I'd also like to mention there's an episode that calls out the fandom, and another referencing fandom in general.
