No. I'm pointing out that a distinction cannot be clearly made between "fair" rules and draconian rules. They are both enforced using the same methods. We can only hope whoever is making the rules is not corrupt.
This seems highly pessimistic.  Our moderators are not "corrupt" -- they do not play favorites and cannot be bribed.

There can be no "corruption" as long as the rules apply equally to everybody all of the time, which is how our mods do their jobs.

There's nothing Draconian about expecting people to be at least civil to one another on a support forum

And I'm not saying that I've always been civil either so shut your mouth

I've noticed on other fourms mods tend to have this belief that the rules do not apply to them.

The mods here are about as good as I've seen anywhere. Things generally get dealt with in a timely and consistent manner. I don't see any surprising mod actions that aren't the direct result of a topic starter requesting a thread to be locked before I think it needs to be locked. And that's fair enough, they started it and I can start my own if there's a really compelling reason for it. I haven't started any as a result of that.

For a forum full of socially disregulated people, things are quite smooth and generally orderly.
