Do you know which one is in California and which one is in Florida? If you don't, this is not uncommon. Lots of people confuse them.

My brother once worked at the one in Florida. I believe it was Disney World. He bragged “a World is bigger than a Land. Disney Land could fit in Disney World’s parking lot.”

When I was a boy I read a short illustrated biography of Walt Disney. I recall one panel where Walt took his niece to an amusement park and couldn’t believe how dirty it was. He got the idea of an amusement park that was clean and more welcoming for children and families.

Yes I know which is which. I've been to each several times.

I have never been to either.

There is a Disneyland in Paris, France, also and one in Shanghai, China.

Am an American Boomer. So I watched the Disney show every Sunday night of my grade school years in the Sixties. And heard them plug "Disney Land" in California, all of the time.

Then later on during my teens (after I outgrew the Disney Show and it went off the air) you heard about the new fangled "Disney World" in Florida.

Its a natural progression: "land" to "world".

The next one will be "Disney Verse" prolly.

Never been to either though.

The real question is do you know the difference between Disney's Land of Illusion and Disney's World of Illusion?

I've been to the Paris one too. A friend grew up living on the premises. His family owned the park.

Disney World is in Florida, Disneyland is in California.

Walt Disney started having Disneyland being built apparently because when he took his daughters to carnivals and amusement parks they were often messy or smelled bad, and the place was just generally depressing. An amusement park is supposed to be fun, happy and cheerful. Or so I've heard...

I've been to Disney World a couple times as a kid which is in Florida since it was a lot closer to where we lived. I would have rathered spent my school vacation at home watching TV & playing Super Nintendo. One of those parks is also in Japan, I think it's Disney World.

Yes.
But finnally he took a trip to Copenhagen Denmark and saw a park called "Tivoli" which he loved, it was clean and nice and so forth, and Tivoli became the model for his later own creation of Disneyland.

No, I didn't know which amusement park is where, and I'll probably forget it pretty soon tbh

I had no idea it was based on Tivoli. That's a cool piece of trivia

I had no choice but to go. One set of grandparents was in CA and my other grandfather had a winter property in Florida for a couple of years. I had some major meltdowns from the heat and the lineups.

For most of my life I didn't even know they were two different places.
That's how little interest I have in amusement parks.

After I grew up I ended up going back to Disneyland CA a few times because my kids wanted to go.
We got discounts because of my family's CA resident cards, and we stayed at family's houses.
It's like there was no escape.

I actually love rollercoasters and nostalgia but I hate the sunshine and the lines.
