My guess here is that he does not respond or reacts to to flirting in a typical expected way guys do. Guys tend to flirt & chat back & then ask the woman out. Aspergers can make this process a lot more awkward & confusing. In my case I'm kinda oblivious to flirting, do not know how to flirt, & I'm also very passive in social situations & need others to take the lead with things.
