I was feeling a little upset today, is it normal for Aspie Men to have a difficult time? I see often at work the guys can joke with the females more, and they put there hands together joking around pushing each other back. The Women I work with are nice to me don't get me wrong, I am not bullied or anything like that, or is it just that I am quiet, introverted, serious minded although I do consider that I have a very good although ''odd'' sense of humor, do we just give off a ''certain vibe''? I will admit I am a little bit eccentric or offbeat, but two of the women do talk with me more, but I hardly reach the level of actually physically joking around.

Everyone has a different comfort level.
I'd feel very uncomfortable physically joking around at work, so I suspect that would just make me come off as awkward.
Does anyone there share interests in common?
I've found that's the best way for me to successfully engage with people, even if it's a small group of people.
I think you just have to find what works for you.

I think the difference between an interaction that is polite and reserved and an interaction that has joking around and laughing can be pretty subtle and the subtlety can be difficult to master or negotiate.

Physically joking around can be very risky for us who are not socially skilled as it can be perceived as harassment if the other person takes it that wrong way. I dont think I’ve physically joked with anyone, male or female for about 30 years, except my boyfriend. I don’t mind the idea but I’m just not comfortable and relaxed enough in other people’s personal space to do that.
