I’m typically too quiet. I was louder when I was a kid.

Yes but because my mother would always tell me off for talking "too loud". She's a mumbler too and I can't make out what she says unless I am in the same room with her.

I have not tried cashiering yet, but I could imagine if I did that might be a bit of a thing I'd need to work on.

Recently working as a Cashier, It brought up my issues with mumbling or speaking too low in a big way. Anyone else can relate?

If I'm really comfortable with a person I'm almost at a whisper

I like talking quiet because I feel like I can express myself better and my language is way more fluid

Slightly similar. I get told I mumble a lot but then other people tell me I am too loud and it gets really annoying after a certain point because I don't really know how I am speaking

My girlfriend is very likely on the spectrum & she sometimes mumbles & talks low. Cass also speaks gibberish a bit & talks to herself a lot. That makes some fun conversations  I'm often asking her to repeat herself, especially when there's a bit of background noise or if I wasn't really listening at the time.

I don't recall ever having a problem with mumbling or talking low except when I'm talking to myself which I did a lot as a kid but a lot less as an adult but more so if I'm by myself. I had speech therapy till I started high-school due to not pronouncing certain sounds quite right like S, CH, TH, & PH. I still may not pronounce them quite right. I didn't have speech therapy in high-school because the school providing it was not a viable option but I still woulda qualified if I went to a public high-school. I do have a tremor disorder that can affect my voice if I'm tired, nervous, or stressed so perhaps that's some of the issue. I tend to be quiet in conversations partly because I don't know what to say or what to ask & by the time I think of it the conversation is over or has majorly changed directions. I also notice that people tend to not listen when I talk because they assume I'm too stupid to know what I'm talking about or I'll talk about something they have no interest in. The complaints I've received related to my talking are that I'm too quiet & need to talk more or that I'm rude/offensive/mean or that I was crazy when I was talking to myself as a teen.
