A large part of how much I like someone depends on what their voice sounds like

Yes I realize you don't have much control over what your voice sounds like

And I don't like the way my voice sounds

But some voices sound worse to me than others

I like to listen to some people talk if I find their voices pleasant. Otherwise listening to them talk is like noise pollution

(Thinking about listening to the head cashier today offering popsicles in the locker room)

Precious lil "people" often miss the point of what I said

I wish my voice was lower but after six years of testosterone I still sound like a "ma'am", s**t

(Rolls eyes)

my voice is plenty low-pitched [like an old-fashioned radio announcer], so much so that often people can't tell what i'm saying, as though my voice were beneath their hearing frequency range. i suspect if i had a higher pitched voice i would not have this particular problem.

And then there is Tone Policing - Discrediting or ignoring what I say because my audience thinks the tone of my voice is an improper match for what I am saying.

So they ignore my warnings, and do exactly what I told them they should not do.

At least I can derive some satisfaction form saying, "I told you so".
