Is The Character "Mr Bean" autistic?

He's definitely weird. I thought he's more like an alien. We enjoyed watching those shows. I can't say I relate to him. I do feel like an alien, too, but I'm definitely a different sort of alien.

I always thought he was but he is also very self centered. I also thought he was stupid but also clever at the same time. He didn't know how to paint the walls for one so he had to use a Dynamite. He never took off the wallpaper and sanded it and use primer first.

I don't think of him as autistic. He makes good eye contact doesn't he? (I can't remember, but I picture beady eyes). Beyond that we have no idea what he's thinking or experiencing on the inside, apart from the fact he makes a lot of mistakes and tries to avoid responsibility.
