“[ . . . ] Star Trek the Next Generation has great characters and my favorite is Lt. Commander Data. Some of these may not be Data episodes but they have great Data moments. [ . . . ]”

I don't find any Star Trek characters to be particularly relatable.

I’ve always been especially fond of Data. I could be his daughter.

I wonder if all the characters on the Enterprise I'd find relatable are locked up in the brig.

What about Q? He spent an episode in the brig.

I loved Star Trek TNG when I was growing up and still find it rather comforting although it’s been a while since I watched it. I can’t think of many entertaining characters who were in the brig at the moment. Maybe it’s time for a Star Trek marathon. :nerdy:

I'm thinking of characters who are never actually seen or referred to, which tends to make them much less entertaining. :P

Yes, that is a common problem with never being seen or referred to, I’ve found.

Someone decided to make a whole show about those type of characters called “Star Trek: Lower Decks”

In STTOS those were the ones who would get sent on an away mission and then get killed the moment their foot hit the planet.

Then there was “Trials and Tribble-ations” where a STTOS episode was revisited and some of those “never actually seen or referred to” characters turned out to be time traveling characters from Deep Space 9

Data's more good natured than me. I feel more like 7 of 9.

I feel more of a connection to Peter Tork of The Monkees.

I've never felt a connection to anyone on Star Trek, which is probably why I never watched it.
My partner's a big fan and tried to get me to watch it recently, but it just seems very trite and cringeworthy, like Days of Our Lives but in space.
