Phrases I am tired of hearing

"Redundant" when they mean "useless" (not the same thing).

"Potential" for "possible".

"Decimate" for "devastate" (not quite the same thing).

"Native American" when the speaker means "Indigenous American". Any American who was born here (ie is not a first generation immigrant) is a "native American". Politicians like Buchanan (back in the day) and Trump (now) who appeals to anti immigrant sentiment is a "Nativist"...and its not because theyre concerned about the rights of Indigenous Americans. I agree that "American Indian" is outdated, but we need a better replacement than "Native American".

You can hide your obsession if you try. My mum told me that once. I didn't talk to her again for the rest of that day. Little did she know that I was already hiding a secret obsession that she knew nothing about by wearing red, white and blue.

People:
"Honestly, I know and just wanted to say that I literally, actually, totally, basically, really, very, absolutely, and obviously know everything perfectly."

Adverbs:
Please stop.

"A lot of money", "Believe me...", "Big-league", "Bigly", "Billions and billions of dollars", "Covfefe", "Fake news", "He's a great guy", "Make America great again", "Make America greater than ever before", "My generals", "My military", "Swamp the vote", "The blacks", "The cyber", "The gays", "The incredible men and women", "The Muslims", "Too big to rig", "We're going to make...", "We're going to take care of", "Winning again", and just about anything else uttered by Donald Trump.

You can do anything if you put your mind to it.
If you try hard enough you can do anything.

I had no idea the war in the mideast is still going on because I have not tried hard enough to stop it.

If I can do it, so can you.
