Those buttons on the side of smart/flip phones that shortcut to instructions to the phone...that you accidently push...without knowing that you pushed...causing the phone to do something you dont want it to do ...without you knowing that you commanded it to do it...like mute etc..

The telephone. I hate talking on the phone. E-mail is much easier.

Electric pencil sharpeners. A non electric pencil sharpener does just as good as a job and electric pencil sharpeners just make noise.

Israel.
Imagine how much more peaceful the world would be without that mistake.

Power windows and doors on cars. It's wasteful to have a motor inside each door to roll the windows up and down when you can just do it manually. And it's just another thing that can break down.

I'm anti-power windows and locks, but they weigh so little that even GT3 homologation models often include them.

If they're putting them in homologation models, you can (probably) assume they don't contribute to fuel usage and represent a weight savings, rather than adding weight.

I still don't like that they might break down and seem like a luxury I don't need, but wasteful might depends on how you're defining wasteful.

You mean you don't like to see random photos of the inside of your pocket whenever you take your phone out?

On the topic of cars, my parents' car has an extraordinarily dumb feature where the engine turns off every time you stop. This might save some energy at long lights or when you're stuck in traffic, but most of the time you're stopping for a few seconds and the energy it takes to start again is not worth it. So the company is willing to pollute more if it looks like they're polluting less. And this is why capitalism is destroying the world.

Overall, with the exception of electric cars, I don't think a single improvement has been made to the car technology in my lifetime. My parents' car mentioned above is only five years old, but they recently had a rental car that was maybe two years old and it's a thousand times worse. It made my mom cry several times. You could say that this is because older people have trouble with new technology, but I had all the same problems they did. But if all cars are terrible we have no choice but to buy a terrible car. Again, the underlying theme being capitalism.
