With Trump bringing up Hannibal Lecter/Hannibal Lecktor. Thought this was an interesting comparison with Anthony Hopkins of course and Brian Cox playing the character in Manhunter.

I like both. Hopkins portrayal is much creepier with a small hint of humor in a way. Cox's portrayal is a bit drier but seems more sinister, as he comes off as semi normal, more than Hopkins version of the character.

Then there is Mads Mikkelsen from Hannibal.
I have not seen Manhunter.
It's hard to beat Sir Anthony Hopkins, for me at least.

Mads' Hannibal can be very normal, but as I recall, he is always deliberately manipulating those around him.
Hannibal can be watched on AMC+, Pluto TV, and Prime Video.

I was about to mention Mikkelsen. His take on the character is very different from that of Hopkins' role, inhabiting a reimagined Hannibal Lecter mythology.
