What do your think must be done to achieve that?

What are you doing to make it all happen?

Well right now I am limited by my health but in the past I was very active in the freedom community. I will be attending more protests once I am feeling better.

What exactly do you mean by the "freedom community"? Which "freedoms," in particular, are emphasized in protests by this "community"?

I wouldn't blame immigrants for this. I would blame stingy government policies instead. The vast majority of immigrants work for a living, and work hard.

"Social cohesion" is a mixed blessing. Too much "social cohesion" tends to result in bullying of anyone perceived as odd, including autistic people.

It has worked very well for me.

For example, as my neighborhood has gotten more an more multi-cultural over the past few decades, the kids have gotten much better behaved. Back in the 1990's, there was a gang of kids who hung out on street corners harassing passers-by, and other kids too tended to harass anyone who looked strange to them. Those kids are now long gone.

Don't most immigrants, or at least the younger generation, eventually learn English too? They certainly do here in the U.S.A. And I would expect the same to be true in Canada too, however much you folks may pride yourselves on not being the U.S.A.

Not sure why "vehicles" have gone way up in price, but as for housing, the main problem is restrictions on the supply of housing. Specifically, zoning laws. See the following articles about zoning laws in Canada:

- Canada has an acute shortage of housing. Easing regulations would help solve that.
- Can a zoning ‘revolution’ save Canada from a housing crisis?
- Canada makes an unprecedented push for multifamily housing

Hopefully the reforms mentioned in the above articles will help, though it will take time to build all those new houses.

Zoning laws are not the fault of immigrants. At least here in the U.S.A., and I suspect in Canada too, zoning laws are the fault of "civic associations" of greedy homeowners who believe they have a God-given right to eternally rising property values.

Supply chains were disrupted by both Covid and a fire at a chip supplier. This reduced supply of new cars and contributed to used cars going up. Additionally, a lot of people don't want to deal with the spy tech included in new cars and prefer used cars.

I'm not sure how this is the fault of immigrants or Canadian immigration policies, considering it's not limited to Canada.

I understand the issue for most local Canadians and Australians is not immigrants themselves but the rate of change which I suspect people are uncomfortable seeing rapid demographic change. But I suspect Canada is like Australia or England that these changes are most dramatic in major cities like London, Vancover, toronto or Melbourne/Sydney. Immigrants tend to gravitate to cities so their impact is out of proportion to their actual raw numbers.

In Australia people vote with their feet as well. Locals move to less "diverse" areas and move their kids to schools that reflect their kids backgrounds in a phenomenon called "white flight". If you are not comfortable with your neighbors have you considered doing what a lot of people do, which is move further out. Here in Melbourne once you travel outside of Melbourne the demographics change dramatically, I am sure its the same in regional Canada right.

All freedoms really, like: speech and expression, assembly, bodily autonomy, religion, self defense.

To just name a few.

Vehicles and housing are affected because everyone needs them once they get here. Plus immigrants disproportionately drive more used cars than the average Canadian, meaning that young men like myself have to compete for the same overpriced POS cars as the immigrants do.

Also there is no way to keep the supply of housing up with demand with Trudeau bringing over 1.5M a year. Most of the land in this country is known as crown land meaning it is owned by the government. Crown land is public land and cannot be bought or sold also you cannot build on crown land. So even though we a the second largest country by land mass there is very little land to build on.

I have considered moving outside of the Metro Vancouver area, but my support network is here as well as most of the work (however sparse and low paying it is). I also have some health issues and impaired executive function that would make living in the country difficult if not impossible at this very moment. I hope once my health gets better and I am established in a well paying career that I can have the luxury of being to able make the decision to move.

I have to agree with you on the spy tech stuff, I prefer driving and working on pre 2010 cars for that reason. There is too much tech in general in cars, it's just one more thing to fail in 10 years is what i say. My car is a 2003 and I had to deal with fixing the stupid electronic climate control because the radio died. Can you believe that? Who's the stupid engineer that designed that? A car that when the radio dies you lose all control over heat and ac. Now that's just dumb.

Why does it seem that those who express their love for freedom often refer only to their own freedom, and not the freedom of others?

Exactly.

I noticed the irony in his username.

Whoever expresses the freedom to impose their will on others does not understand the meaning of the word "Freedom".

I don't understand, how have I indicated that I do not respect other people's rights? I have spent the past almost 5 years protesting the Canadian government's oppressive actions against the people.

If you are inferring that people that were born in other countries have some divine right to live here, then no I don't respect that "right" especially when a corrupt self serving government brings them here to exploit them as cheap labour and guaranteed voters. The Canadian government does not care about these people they see them as cannon fodder and taxe cattle. They lie to immigrants to get them here. Foreigners told that Canada is a peaceful friendly country that has a growing economy with lots of jobs. Now that was true 30+ years ago, but it's certainly not true now. I have talked to immigrants who have told me that they regret coming here just to work a minimum wage job in a country where everything is over priced.

Sounds like the alarm system in a house I purchased. the previous owner linked the electricals for the alarms so if I de-activate the alarm then I lose half the circuits to the rest of the house. Was fun trying to figure out the code to shut down the bloody alarm (while it was blaring in my ears) but keep the line active.
