That's true, it can also be self-righteousness or a measure of coercion.
I think of managers that sort of say things like "I don't have time to discuss this" and other
variants of "accept this because I said so..."
In my case I specifically mean laziness about verbalizing, not laziness per-se.
I find that I often think for a long time about things to come to a conclusion,
so long that I don't remember the beginning of the process and it takes a while to cite
all the sources and so forth. I imagine many people sort of operate like this.
