Is humor related to autism?

I have been able to make almost every person i've had a relationship with no matter age gender whatever.I find it to be a challenge but also its interesting how different everyones humor is. I find the most enjoyment it making others even random people laugh. Even at the expense of myself sometimes smh.

I feel like I find very few things actually funny but I completely understand all humor and love to laugh. But i've found a few shows that I can really watch. Smiling Friends(specifically the scene with the mad scientist and his roommate barging in) that seen perfectly encompasses the type of humor I enjoy

Any show recommendations?

I enjoy watching old TV shows, because I find the jokes relatable. I also enjoy movies that showcase slapstick humour.

I'd like to know that too, e.g. are autistic people more likely to enjoy absurd humor and why.

It's good to be reminded of a show I was going to watch, so thanks  Very nice little series. Loved the dark humor of the first episode, when this guy holds a gun to his head all the time (even on a roller coaster) and waits for them to finally show him why life is worth living.

From "adult" cartoons I'd recommend:
- If you want nihilistic humor, then Rick & Morty. There's also Solar Opposites from the same creator. I watched only a few episodes, but it looked nice.
- If you want absurd with a bit of nihilism and a bit of sitcom warmth, then the old classics - the Simpsons (only the old seasons though - they became sh***y Zombie Simpsons in the 9-10th season, there's a whole book about it on the Internet :D ) and Futurama. There's also newer Disenchantment from the same creator - it's fun at the beginning, but somewhere in 2-3rd season starts to rely too much on a boring, strange main plot.
- If you want something both hilarious and profoundly sad, then Bojack Horseman
- The new animated Harley Quinn is also nice - a humorous, refreshing look on the Batman universe.

I also liked The Series of Unfortunate Events, but probably because I enjoyed the books very much. It's good if you want some dark humor, word play, slapstick and just pure weirdness, but some episodes just felt too long.

I'd be happy too to see some recomendations (though it probably fits more in Television, Film, and Video section).

I think I like "absurd humor" best. The Muppet Show and Kids In The Hall had a lot of weird humor in them. Maybe because the world is just a weird place and humor is a way of trying to make sense of it?

Last night I laughed because I watched a video of the game Roller Coaster Tycoon, but there was some kind of mod that made the guests explode like bombs each time they had a negative thought. "I don't want to go on this ride in the rain" - Boom! "I want to go home" - Boom! "I feel sick" - Boom! It was like some weird, creepy dystopian thing, but it was pretty funny.

While not scientifically backed
I do notice a trend where my autistic friends apprciate self depreciating humour more than most people. I find it to therapeutic, having a laugh at one's own expense about their own misfortune.
There are comedians who base their entire career on this type of humor, so it must be fairly common. Though these jokes are best used sparingly because self depreciation is just sad when overused

I enjoy humor but I'm not a funny person myself. On occasion something funny will come out of my mouth on the spur of the moment, something that just occurs to me in the moment, but I don't consciously try to crack jokes and wouldn't be good at it if I did.

As far as TV shows, I don't really watch animated shows. I like sitcoms, some of them, but it's mostly for the casual banter and the feeling of connectedness to the characters rather than the riproaring laughs, which don't really happen for me. I like Big Bang Theory, Modern Family, Frasier, MASH. I also like late night talk shows like Colbert and Seth Meyers. My favorite comedian is Marc Maron, but he's quite cerebral and understated, not really big laughs.
