Ya.There was this church of Christ youtuber and she talked about how her dad believed in the holding place in the church of Christ that people supposedly go to after death called "Hades."They adapted the term from Greek mythology but to mean a different concept.The church of Christ has its own terms for certain things that are different than the rest of Christianity.For example "Pastor" is a huge cuss word at my church.My pastor thinks you go straight to Heaven or Hell upon death but its not universally agreed upon in the church of Christ.

I find it interesting how many Christian sects have adopted something resembling the concept of purgatory, even if it goes by another name.

Some versions have Jesus descending into Hell before ascending into Heaven.

I don't know what they mean by "the communion of saints." Maybe we aren't really meant to know.

Anyway, I think that a lot of Christian denominations have given up on the "resurrection of the body" theory, and adopted the notion of the soul existing independently of the body (probably adapted from Greek models). Upon death, your soul goes immediately to Heaven or Hell (Catholics may place a lot of souls in Purgatory). Your body is no longer required, and can rot away.

The church of Christ does not exactly teach that.It teaches that the Jews of the Old Testament who were faithful and humans before the Jewish people that were faithful will be in Heaven.Some also teach that its possible for some pre-Christian pagans to be in Heaven but nobody knows for sure.

God, being God, could have just created people who would automatically love him, and saved himself the trouble of condemning so many people to eternal flames. God has a very cruel side indeed.

Some churches, of course, consider the Old Testament Jews to have been looking forward to the coming of Jesus, and to have achieved salvation on this account. There isn't anything in the Bible to support this.

John 3:16 wrote:

Noah would been counted as faithful in the church of Christ because he was part of the Pre-Mosaic Dispensation.Modern Jews would have to follow the 5 step plan of salvation in order to be counted as faithful in the church of Christ.

I dont really agree with gotquestions.com on some of their dispensations like millennial kingdom dispensation because I dont really believe revelation was literal for the most part.Noah got to go to Heaven because he wasnt wiped out in the flood.

The Bible doesn't say anything about Noah getting to go to Heaven, nor anything about not getting wiped out in the Flood guaranteeing admission into Heaven. Only that Noah died when he was 950 years old.

Well the church of Christ teaches that God only wiped out the wicked in the flood so Noah was seen as righteous at the time of the flood which was why he was spared.The church of Christ teaches that you were saved from eternal destruction if you were on that ark.Noah is listed in the Hall of Faith or Faith Hall of Fame in the Book of Hebrews so the New Testament says Noah was a righteous man so I dont know why God would send a righteous man to Hell so I stand by my belief that Noah is in Paradise or Heaven most likely.
