I realized a lot of stuff. Some stuff has changed the choices I make. I am glad I learned.

Even if the orange Antichrist gets in it has to be an improvement on last year

So far it's been filled with stress and anxiety and feelings of impending doom all of which are culminating today. Tomorrow the year will definitively be labeled as "good" or "bad".

When I was able to block the election out of my mind, however, it was actually a really great year. If it's the last one I get before everything goes to hell, I'm happy with the way it went.

The first three quarters of it were pretty s**t. But it seems to have turned a corner lately. I recently got a new job that I actually like doing and we've had some good fortune that has eased financial hardship.

Trying not to catastrophise about the USA's ongoing commitment to world-leading stupidity. They get what they deserve of course, but I'm concerned about what their new foreign and energy policies will mean for the world.

What about you?

This past year has been a lot better than the previous two years but it's still been hard. I have a new boyfriend who is wonderful but I'm not able to see him as much as I would like. My chronic illness is worse and I've been having a hard time dealing with it and dealing with my day to day. I'm also anxious and scared and everything feels hard and overwhelming.

This year has been really difficult for me, even nightmarish at times, but it’s not been completely devoid of good moments and the suspicion that better times are on the horizon - better times from an entirely personal standpoint, not so much nationally, globally, or for some of my friends.

Good and bad. Never felt bad for long. Something has usually turned up in time to cheer me up. I got a few songs recorded that I'm fairly pleased with. I was mostly alone for 4 months, which got rather depressing but never clinically so, and I've not been alone much at all since September. Health has become rather worrying recently but I'm not physically uncomfortable and have been surprisingly philosophical about it.
