How can I get help? I'm stuck in a group home :cry: :x :x :skull:

Here is an on-line support chat. You don't have to go anywhere to get help, if you can post here you can probably also access this on-line support option:

https://chat.988lifeline.org/

This page says:

"Please fill out this short survey below to Start a Chat"

@kitty

I hear you that the group home sounds rough. You are expected to follow the rules, guidance, and expectations of people who you may/may not trust and who may/may not have your best interests in mind, or even the training to help. It sounds like what you want is more independence and freedom from the circumstances.

I'm thinking of killing myself. NOBODY CARES, my sister don't care, she keep claiming she know about my Autism & Learning Disabilities. One person at the group home claim she knows about Autism. Autism is not the same in everybody that has Autism, they are different levels, ALOT of people can be smarter than other people, ALOT of people can do more stuff than other people. Talking to a doctor & doing research on Autism is great, but they also need to talk to the person that has Autism to really know the truth & understand, a doctor don't know everything, a doctor don't know your mind & how it works. I'm REALLY ALONE, how much longer can I handle this? I DON'T KNOW how to handle people claiming they know stuff about you. My sister thinks I can handle living here & if I can't handle things, she wants me to fake it, I CANNOT be someone I'm not.

Kitty,
I hope you are as well as can be under the circumstances. It sounds like your situation is very challenging. Here in the haven we are supposed to be supportive and not give the impression of discounting someone’s feelings or discomfort.

It sounds like there are some things in your situation that could also benefit from some problem solving strategies, but the rules of the haven are set up so people will not rush into possibly making a situation worse by problem solving when that could just feel like criticism. If you really want some help of the problem solving type you can start another thread outside of the haven asking specifically for what might be the most help. You can also ask specifically for ideas to get to a better place here if that is what you want.

Again I want to validate your feelings and your emotional pain or discomfort as real. You are on a rough road.

I think of you often and hope things take a turn for the better.
