Colic baby

Is there a cure for colic, do colic drops work, how often is baby colic?
Some sources suggest that colic exists in breast fed babies, and that mother needs to assess for food allergies, hopeful?
Depends on the baby.
I exclusively nursed all of my babies (I have quite a few, lol), and every single one was upset by dairy in my diet. Once I figured it out/remembered with subsequent kiddos (hey, sometimes sleep deprivation causes serious brain malfunction...), their "colic" resolved, for the most part. I was able to bring back dairy when they were around 18 months old. (My earliest to wean was at age 2, and my latest was nearly 5 years old.)
Oh, and my husband was also sensitive to dairy as an infant, and couldn't be fed standard baby formula. He, also, had "colic."
I never tried colic drops, sorry, so I'm no help there. I assumed that my littles were fussy because of something I was eating that didn't agree with their tummies, so I never tried medical solutions to our problem.
Here's a great website that might help:

An unhappy baby may have gas. It may be in the stomach or in the bowels. Careful massage can help. Read up to make sure you know what you are doing. Mother’s milk is often the best thing for a baby, a mother’s body can even react to needs of the baby. Bottle feeding may result in the baby swallowing air, this is something else to read up on, and maybe change bottles or bottle nipples. Allergies are always a possibility especially with formula fed babies, more rarely with breast feeding. Special formulas for unhappy babies are available. Working with a good pediatrician here may be key.
Unhappy babies may have an earache or a sore bottom or may just need to be held. Talking to other moms here is probably the best bet.
New moms need a lot of help. A strong network is invaluable.

This is very true. I also wanted to add that, it's possible for breastfed infants to swallow a lot of air, too (my kids had this problem, because I had an overactive milk ejection reflex and overproduction issues). So burp those babies, regardless!
These are great points, especially the one I highlighted. It's completely normal for babies to want to be held nearly 24 hours a day. I used a sling (proper positioning is critical so that Baby doesn't suffocate), but there are a lot of babywearing options out there, for those high-need little ones who need more Mama Time.
