I don’t know, it just seems to happen.

Mostly stressful social situations or stressful situations with my wife. Sometimes if I am excited or anxious about an activity.

Anxiety mostly ...and unresolvable stress. Once in a while if I am very content , even happy about a thing.
but am able to control it if it is under public stress circumstances....but containing it can be stressful in and of itself.
Sometimes , i am able to keep my mental abilities going and get through it. Stimming was forbidden in my family growing up .

Overstimulation, I suppose. Internal stress, external factors that I may or may not be aware of at the moment. Things like that.

Any feeling or emotion that I feel strongly?

Examples:

  • Eating my favorite foods = happy dance.
  • Getting something gross or sticky on my hands = shaking arms / panic rocking.
  • Any sort of conflict or argument = tears and hard blinking with face rubbing.
  • General anxiety = leg shaking and foot wiggling... the worse it gets the harder/faster it happens.
  • Frustration / anger = messing with my hands a lot, like squeezing fists or messing with my nails.

I'm sure there are others but these are the ones I have noticed and know happen super consistently.

Well stressful situations. That means every time I have to interact with people. It doesn't matter if it is my family, my work or strangers.

Ironic fact - I am caregiver in healthcare system 8O

I don't generally overtly, I mostly wind up shutting down as I wasn't really allowed to overtly stim as a child.

But, it's definitely sensory overwhelm and a lot more subtly, which makes it a bit tough to really know.
