When I was a kid I remember seeing a lot of hotrodded Cavaliers and Sunbirds/Sunfires.
In the case of that channel, they've got lots of cheap cars and mostly have been modding them as science experiments.
I remember in the early-mid 00's you would occasionally see a Cavalier or Sunfire with a bodykit and a fart can on the back, but no one ever really modified them to improve their engine performance. All of those cars are all long gone, I assume they got driven into the ground or totaled. The only ones that are left are granny spec base models. The Z24 Cavalier and Cobalt SS are practically non existent with the later being rare because they didn't make many in the first place. I however remember seeing lots of Z24's in the 00's. To be honest I have a bit of a soft spot for these tinny GM sh*tboxes, they have a mechanical simplicity that I find charming in comparison to today's electronically overladen vehicles. I have ridden in many of these cars, it seems like everyone under the age of 30 in the 00's either had a Cavalier/Sunfire or a Neon.
