Yes, people sometimes have made fun of me or laughed at me.

To be fair, I've learned to be one of those people. Being able to laugh at myself is much easier than going around with a very thin skin like I had when I was younger.

People who laugh at us like that are probably uncomfortable and probably quite insecure. They probably have a problem of their own that we don't know about.

Have you ever looked into doing some reflective therapy? It's where you befriend the person in the mirror and learn to like yourself?

Also what would it take for you to try some positive affirmations? They have lots of apps and videos online.

Here are some on insecurity and self doubt

Have found in the past , peoples reactions to laugh, if it not particulsrily funny. Is often due some internal insecurities they suffer ..... Sometimes it can make ne smile ,under those circumstances . Without realizing it , thry often give away more about the Laughing persons character, or lack thereof . Almost like a masked nervous laughter .

^^I think you're both correct that people who would laugh at someone have something wrong with them, or at least something going on within themselves that causes them to lash out.

Everything from what I've said or done to simply existing in "their" world.

When people laugh at me it's usually because I injured myself in an absurd or spectacular way. That's just as funny to me as it is to anyone else.

For whatever reason I don't get laughed at in an insulting way. If people insult me they'll insult me directly.

I sometimes used to walk along talking to myself & making random hand gestures when I was deep in thought. people used to laugh at that & ive got out of that habit now.

Yes people tend to think I act funny or say funny things. When I was a kid and a teenager it was a problem. People laughed at me and thought I was weird. Then I learned to use it to my advantage by changing it a knot and turn it into dead pan humor. Some people think I should try stand-up comedy.
