These stories hit so close to home for me.
Every single one of my kids eloped as toddlers, and it was only by the grace of God that no one was killed. Despite having locking deadbolts on the front door (the kind that require a key on both inside and outside), they all managed to escape (out windows, scaling 6' backyard fences without nearby furniture to climb, sneaking behind someone bringing in groceries, etc.). And I never napped or showered during the day -- I was too terrified someone would get out -- but I had to prepare meals, use the bathroom, or nurse a baby, and that's when they escaped.
Prayers for the parents of sweet little Joshua. And for all parents of little ones who leave this world too soon.
