The governor of my State Colorado and the Governor of Illinois have formed a coalition of Governers to protect democracy. So could be states can fight back yet against federal over-reach, apparently they won't list all the Governers involved but I am just glad there is some potential organization against the damage Trump and his administration might try to do.

We'll see how this goes, but we're at the point where we might see states start to just outright refuse to follow rulings from SCOTUS. The literal only legitimacy that SCOTUS has is that the people agree to go along with what they say, and with the court itself being largely illegitimate due to the way that the GOP stole nominations, and that a good chunk of the folks on there are using the bench to solicit bribes, it may be the time to just stop following their rulings.

I am almost certain Gov. Moore of Maryland is or will be a part of this, but not convinced there's much they can do.

Unfortunately, the State of Maryland if facing awful budget problems, which probably limits Moore's credibility to some extent.

The only GOP governor I can see backing this is Phil Scott (Vermont). He's a Rockefeller Republican, though.

I hope that my state/New England as a whole will do the same. In fact, I would like New England to just split off to become its own country, but I know that isn't happening. Nevertheless, we are a region that feels pretty independent, so I hope we can resist the Christofascists' awful laws.

I guarantee Greg Abbott is all in on Trump and P25.

Ironically, people here have stopped talking about secession. They were all abuzz about it when Obama and Biden were president.

Outside of the major non-DFW metros, one can only win an election if they (a) run as a Republican, and (b) wh*re themselves to the Wilks brothers--two billionaire, Christofascist oilmen who make Charles Koch look like George Soros.

Vermont and New Hampshire, especially.

VT is the only state where a third-party person holds statewide office (Lt. Gov. David Zuckerman, of the VT Progressives)
