What kind of extreme weather have you been in and what happened?

For example, hurricane knocked over house

Worst thing that happened at my place was the back fence blowing over. My housemate came in from the backyard saying, "You should see the fence, it's wobbling!"

I went out there and about 10 seconds later the fence blew down.

We gathered up the pieces and laid them down on the front lawn.

Two months later we had an attractive blue metal fence.

I experienced two tornadoes as a toddler, but I don't count those because I barely remember them.

In recent years the most extreme weather was a huge rainstorm two years ago. The power went out in most of the city (during the day fortunately), huge tree branches blocked the streets, and a tree fell on someone's house in our neighborhood (everyone was fine). It was kinda cool. I like storms when I'm not outside in them.

One of the typhoons to pass through the province earlier this autumn poured so much rain into a river that three huge chunks of the riverbank collapsed and were swept away, bringing the river's edge about 10 meters closer to one of my houses.  The people inside evacuated, and the house now stands locked and empty . . . just waiting for the next typhoon to obliterate it.

Ice Storm 1973(Same one the movie was named after) No Power for days the trees branches all bent down. But they were beautiful glistening in the sun

A number of hurricanes but we were much luckier than most in the region.

2016 27 inches of snow in one storm

-25F Upstate New York while attending college. Literally saw car exhaust freeze and drop to the ground.

78 degrees in February. Snow Squall May 9, 2020

We are now in severe drought. We just went through a two month stretch with only .15 inches of rain.

There was a hurricane here last summer. It was not very severe (category 1) but I was scared to be by myself at the house with the wind howling and probably power outage so I went to stay at my boyfriend's house for three days. When I was there I was not scared at all. The power did go out, for a week at my bf's house and for two days at my house.

Have been through all 5 categories of hurricane. Fences blown down, trees knocked over, power outages, lots of debris, not much else.

We had a windstorm up here in the Pacific Northwest last week.
FEMA sent us an emergency shipment of rakes and leaf blowers.

I haven't been in anything too extreme (yet). There was hurricane Fiona that had me without power for almost a couple of days. I was lucky though, most other people were without power a lot longer. And then we had the blizzard with so much snow that my mom and my uncle and his family had to come and dig me out. Of course I can't rely on the government to lift a finger about it. They'd rather lift a middle finger than help people during these events.

My mother told me that there was a hurricane back in the 70s she was afraid our mobile home, which we lived in until I was around 11 years old, was going to roll right over. But I was a baby back then so I don't remember.
