My name is Joe. I have autism, I was diagnosed last year and it's made a lot of sense. There are parts that I've came around to liking, but also parts I still don't like. I've never really had any friends, but I hope it can change here. I'm a first-year college student in Colorado and I'm studying programming. It's really fun, I'm still an amateur but I see a lot of enjoyment coming from it in the future. I like walking and cycling, I could spend a whole day just roaming about and maybe stopping by a store to get snack. If you want to be friends, feel free to send me a PM! I play video games sometimes, if you have a Nintendo or something else online you would like me to try out with you, I would love to do it!

Thanks,
Joe :)

Welcome to WP! And to the Spectrum. I hope both work out for you.

And, enjoy programming! My Wrong Planet username is "Double Retired" and both of those retirements were from computers. Programming was fun; DBA was fun; computer security was just a bunch of paperwork—but that's because I was doing it on systems that weren't built yet. But, overall, computers worked out well for me. (Um...you probably won't be paid to enter programs via punched cards, however. I'm kind of old.)

Hi Joe, Welcome to Wrong Planet.

You wrote that you are studying software programming. That is a good fit. It matches you special skill capabilities. You also wrote that you enjoy walking and cycling. These are good skill levels. Sometimes as we age we experience Burn Out. But not always. There is a secret of overcoming burnout. It is exercise and deep sleep. The human body needs about 1 hour of strenuous exercise each day to vent stress. Humans are designed to move all the events of the day from short term memory into long term memory each night. This information is then stored away. Your body moves through many different sleep states during the night. Generally the body needs around 2 hours total of deep sleep each night. This is REM and deep NREM sleep. Without this sleep, the information is not properly stored and you brain crashes and destroys the information. So keep up the exercise and you will avoid some of the problems we face.
