Let's say a climate disaster will strike in about 20 years. Your area and mine will be affected. What will the government do? Nothing. They'll consult corporations and investors and they'll say it's not worth the money to save lives 20 years in the future than it is to save lives now. Because no climate disaster is happening now, the government won't do anything now. Our future lives are worthless. Remember when Asbestos was the hot new thing for insulation? The comapany knew the health risks caused by it and covered them up until the 1970s. The causation between Climate Change and burning lots of fossil fuels went through the same thing. Saving you, saving me, they're not number 1 priorities until it is too late.

I haven't watched the video but while it's true that the Democrats are not doing nearly enough the Republicans are far worse and actually undoing the small progress that has taken place.

Not inclined to watch a 17-minute video that's obviously wrong.

etc.

Clearly capitalist governments are perfectly capable of taking action to cut carbon emissions. I frankly see no good reason to believe anticapitalist governments are better at it - indeed, anticapitalists tend to be opposed to many key solutions.
