What made you stop liking someone you were limerent about

Limerence is when you have daydreams, dreams and keep obsessively thinking and having feelings for someone usually who you aren’t even dating. They could be a stranger or acquaintance too.

I had a limerence for a coworker for years. At some point, we started being more interactive like being platonically playful (though he has hit on me before). I was expecting us to keep going and getting closer emotionally or mentally. Then for a few days I noticed he seemed distant so I realized he does not emotionally rely on me like I do him. Since then, I’ve finally been able to move on.

By realizing that I couldn't date a fictional character!! !

Also, getting into a real relationship helped me move past that coping mechanism!

I've found people very attractive over quite long periods of time until the day I hear their voice and that, very suddenly, is the end of that.

I don't know but i don't think I could see a future with a person if they turned out to have hairy palms

I only said it because I used to work in a spinning mill when I was a kid and there was a guy who I got along quite well with and it looked like he had hairy palms because of all the fluff from the yarn and it really put me off him

I had had a crush on the first guy I dated for a long time. Once we started dating, I realized that he wasn’t quite who I thought he was and that we weren’t actually compatible. I was a teenager at the time. I think my idea of him was different than the reality or something like that. We didn’t really interact all that often before we started dating. Maybe this isn’t quite what you had in mind, though.

This blonde chick in high school. I totally wold have given a kidney. She seemed so perfect. But, she wanted nothing to do with me. One of my best friends at the time, who had a huge crush on me but I wasn't into at all, arranged a daytime date with the blonde girl and myself. No idea how she managed that.

Anyways, so I showed up to her house a little early. She was still getting ready. Sat and awkwardly talked with her older brother. She came downstairs half-dressed. Trying not to make eye contact with her or her brother, I looked down at the floor. At that moment, I saw she had the absolute longest toenails I'd ever seen in my life. Grossed me out completely. Said I'd wait for her outside while she finished getting ready, but as soon as I stepped out that door I dipped.

I've experienced major limerence for all three girlfriends that I've had. I fell out of limerance with my first two because we were having lots of fights before we broke up & my first cheated on me with her ex because he offered her cocaine. I still care about them & really hope they're OK but I know it's a lot better for us to not be in each others lives at all. I still have limerence with my current girlfriend after living together 12 years. I've had a crush obsession with a celebrity when I was single & it kind of stopped right after I got in a relationship partly due to focusing on my partner so much. I still have feelings for her if I dwell on things or think about her for a bit but I've been kind of practicing avoidance of that. Me & my girlfriend are both experiencing limerance for a woman we occasionally see. Cass is pansexual & that woman is extremely sweet & cute I know better than to try initiating a three way relationship or threesome with her.
