In an interview with The Spectator,, external Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch said: "Lunch is for wimps. I have food brought in and I work and eat at the same time.

"There's no time... sometimes I will get a steak... I'm not a sandwich person. I don't think sandwiches are a real food, it's what you have for breakfast."

She added that she would "not touch bread if it's moist".

Asked about her comments, No 10 said Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer viewed sandwiches as a "great British institution".

I think people are idiots if they don't have enough time to eat.

Reminds me of work. Reminds me of the pointless grind that gets people nowhere in life.

Tories sure know how to demonstrate how in-touch they are with regular folks. :skull:

Maybe this is why the Earl of Sandwich is a cross-bencher

Workers should be entltled to a lunch break and sandwiches are a very good lunch meal in my opinion.

Some people don't like sandwiches. I like them. There are just so many varieties of them that it's easy to find at least one you *do* like.

And now I have The Sandwich Song by Canadian children's entertainer Fred Penner playing in my head:

Sandwiches are beautiful, sandwiches are fine
I like sandwiches, I eat them all the time
I eat them for my supper and I eat them for my lunch,
If I had a hundred sandwiches, I'd eat them all at once

Oh once I went to England to visit the Queen
I swear she was the grandest lady I had ever seen
I told he she was beautiful and couldn't ask for more
She handed me a sandwich and she threw me out the door!

There's a third part to the song but I can't remember all of the words, and that part about visiting the Queen was so funny the rest of the song feels meh after that, anyway.
