One thing big that's changed over the years on OKCupid is they swamp the male user with foreign women, mostly from Third World countries, that no doubt, want a green card. I would say 70% of matches are foreigners. I think that is because of math. There simply are not enough domestic women on these sites to go around.

I do not want to go overseas, but if I did, I would definitely find a woman on OKCupid and marry her and go to her homeland and enjoy cheaper health care and cheaper cost of living. Now that I think about it, sounds pretty good. I am rather attached to the U.S. however despite all of the problems we have to deal with. I think you find problems wherever you go.

It seemed like most women made zero effort on their profiles, just pics and that is it. I do not know what to do with that, I assume they do not have much to say about anything and do not have any thoughts in their head. If that is the case, there is not much point getting to know them.

Then another huge segment in my age range is women with children. Do I want to be Daddy? Because the real one stepped out. Not really. I can barely support myself, let alone a women and all her offspring.

There are genuine good profiles of what I consider to be attractive women that are not way out of my league. I imagine they are swamped with messages, because I never got a reply from them. They are probably already in a relationship, and simply did not bother taking their profile down. Or, worse, they are dating but keeping the profile up in case they can find better!

OKCupid does not let you see who likes you, unless you pay. The cost seems high to me, over $100 for just three months. I do not really feel like paying for that, because in my experience, it does not result in a relationship, at best only single dates.

I don't think that online dating sites have improved over the last ten years, I think they have remained the same, and do not work well at all. They do not use any AI at all anywhere in their system. Their matchmaking algorithm makes no sense to me. The people they matched me with seemed to have nothing in common at all, just randoms.

I took my profile down, because OKCupid asks a lot of very personal, sexual questions. Imagine your coworker reading your profile and then gossiping about your sexual proclivities.

Have you checked to see if your profile is still there?
Many dating sites will still present your image after you close the account.

I changed my mind and decided to reactivate my account last night. I feel like I have not given OKCupid enough of a chance. I want to keep my profile active for at least a month longer, because I invested time in it. It is just possible, although not likely, that some lady, of my level of attractiveness (5/10?) might message me. It like a lottery ticket, you never know. Eventually, I will disable it again, but I don't see any rush.

My neighbor Glenn and his wife Maureen are proof that OKCupid can be successful and lead to real results!! !

I am thinking my friend Jealene also used OKC to find her husband...

Well, Sherman, if you want to hop in the WABAC Machine, we can take a quick trip down memory lane.

I met my first wife on HotOrNot, which was a photo rating website not a dating website. You had the option to upload a photo to their website, or host larger sized photos yourself somewhere. Every time I saw anyone attractive, I'd check the source code and see if I could find any contact information. In this case, she'd hosted the picture herself on some Geocities page. I went there, got her contact information, and sent her a random email. Since we were in the same town, we ended up knowing a whole bunch of the people and she already knew about me.

I met my second wife on MySpace. Just trawling for hoes who were online by zip code. She was hot. She was online. I sent her a message. We met up. Then spent the next six years trying to get out of the relationship any way I could because she had borderline personality disorder and was literally one of the absolute worst excuses for a human being that I have ever met in my life.

I met my third wife on OkCupid. Back then the website was a lot better. You'd get a match percentage with someone by answering all sorts of random questions. Which was easy to manipulate. Find someone you wanted to chat with in the middle of the night when they weren't online, compare you answers against theirs, change the answers that conflicted to match theirs, get a super high match potential, send them a message they'd get in the morning when they woke up.

Unfortunately, that wife had covert narcissistic personality disorder. Took me a long time to figure that out, because while being similar at times was completely different standard narcissism. The first year of the relationship went slowly downhill, and the next seven progressively got worse and worse.

Once that was all over, I hopped back on OKC again and it had changed a lot. From what I can remember, they had made it a lot harder to contact someone and kept wanting you to pay to use anything beyond the most basic features. First chick I met was some absolutely bat **** insane schizophrenic woman who stole a bunch of stuff from me.

Rebounded from that nonsense and back to OKC again, where I met my current girlfriend who is one of the nicest and most caring people I have ever met in my life. Which, while I don't ever feel like I deserve much in life, it's nice to finally be with someone who isn't total garbage.

Of course, lots of random OKC/PoF dates scattered in between some of that, but most aren't worth mentioning while others are downright horror stories.

5-10 years ago, I saw a number of people on WP meet partners on OKCupid, leading to what seem to have been long-term relationships. I don't think I've seen that happen for a while. Probably something has changed, but having been married for over 39 years, I'm not in a position to know what.

My husband and I met over OK Cupid, back in 2010. It's not the best site out there, but it has its chance of success.

Of the sites I'd tried, back then, Plenty of Fish was the one that I wasn't too keen on how it was set up.

That's a good recommendation indeed.

I did get a date via OKCupid once. The lady was attractive in my opinion. However, first thing out of my car, she hands me a liquor bottle.

Well, you have accumulated a lot of experience in the online dating game to be sure! That was an entertaining read. Perhaps deranged people are also attracted to matchmakers...like us normal folk  . Well, many of us are just garden variety aspies right? With maybe a side helping of ADHD, or OCD, something genteel like that.

I may be aspie but I don't tolerate fools gladly and won't stay in a relationship based upon looks. I met a lady via E-Harmony, who lived illegally in her business office in the big city, because she was short on money. I don't know what her deal was, but she kept playing mind games with me, running hot and cold, and giving me a lot of criticism. I finally just texted her (because she was in one of her moods and would not talk) Goodbye. She was attractive too but had been single for 8 years, no mystery why in my opinion, and her hair was turning gray too big-time. She had dyed it for her profile pics. You can play games with men all you want to but Father Time is going to end those capers at some point.

I will remain on OKCupid based on these success stories that y'all are telling me. Thank you for the feedback, definitely it has made an impression on me.

I got two Messages recently from women which is uncommon on the Matchmakers. They were both attractive, however, both are foreign women and I don't like that, because I don't want to be somebody's green card again nor somebody's ATM.
