To be honest, when I first happened across this website, I was surprised to see that these kinds of message forums were still around and still active. It's nice to see that some things haven't gone away.
Anyway, I'm George (I used "Fenysh Gale" as a username, which is a character from one of my stories). Like most people, I pretty much work a 9-to-5 doing something I'm not exactly built for (I do customer-facing tech support at a call center, which has forced itself into a role where it's now 75% sales (which I hate) and 25% what I was actually originally hired for) - but prefer to define myself by my creations and music works that I have to do in what spare time I get.
I was diagnosed with Aspergers though my parents did not want to accept or even acknowledge it, so I was pretty much raised still being expected to function on par with everyone else (so shock and awe that never added up to that standard, no matter how hard I'd tried). All things considered, that did put me in the position of having to develop my own coping mechanisms early on, so that I am able to (at least to some extent) get by with relative sanity intact.
I've been a musician since age 4 and a composer since age 13, and from 2001 and onward I've composed music for people's homemade video games, eventually getting to the point where I've now scored 4 feature-length films (one of which is not out yet but will be coming out at some point in the near future), several animations, and a handful of short films. Also, since 2010 I decided to move forward with taking some of my own Adventure story ideas and developing them into some form of visual storytelling. For that, I've taken up self-studying of Screenwriting, Vector Illustration, and - most recently - animation. I can post some of my works in appropriate forums.
I don't really want to make this post go on longer than reasonable, so I'll stop there. Good to meet other people who have their own experience on the spectrum and know how much "fun" it tends to make trying to get through life.
