Why are mature galaxies being found

Why are mature galaxies being found that date to around 300 million years after the Big Bang?

Is our understanding of galaxy formation wrong or our understanding of the age of the universe?

That such galaxies exist may be surprising, but we are always learning more and more about the universe. We will never know everything about it, though.
