Friday 9pm the Internet in my house working.

Saturday, went to work. After work, tried and failed to access Internet @ 7am.

Sunday, no work. (usually have to work sundays). multiple times, tried and failed to access Internet. not working. no $$$$, no car, no "friends". some libraries open sundays, but sometimes someone's using all the computers. too lazy to go to an open library, but bored as f**k in my house alone.

monday (today), 5am, when woke up, tried and failed to access internet. breakfast, bowel movement, stretched, bowel movement, walk, library, bowel movement, bus, dinner. internet just started working again.

this is not the first time that this has happened. march this year, internet stopped working. i asked my sister (who lives 15 miles away) and she says sometimes it just happens.

granted, i have been wasting too much time on the Internet. (addiction) and that is bad and unhealthy (fine). however, compared to my coworkers, i am not that addicted to the internet, b/c usually i go to bed @ 9pm, and on work days, not until after my shift starts, and i am in the litterbox, do i go on the internet. on public transportation and in the litterbox, i am usually reading a book. (brainfog).

i only earn minimum wage, part time. constantly afraid of getting made redundant. if/when i get made redundant (or if expenses increase, or income decreases, i get hacked, or anything like that), i will not be able to afford:
(1) rent (2) utilities (3) public transportation (4) health insurance (5) groceries.

if/when i am no longer able to afford Internet, what cheap activities can i do alone, in my house, to pass the time?

sometimes the power goes out altogether. what cheap activities, can i do alone, in my house, that does not involve having the power "on", to pass the time?

Maybe to save money, you ought to move in and be roommate with somebody, then you pay less for utilities as well.

I am a big believer in the power of beans to save money on groceries. With a pound of turkey meat for $7 you can make a protein-rich stew in an InstaPot.

If internet goes out, then books are the answer. That was the way of things back when I was a child. People used to read a lot more than they do now. Books were considered fun and sought after. There were book stores and used book stores.

If power is out and it is too dark to see, then sleep. Easy.

My Internet goes out occasionally, I would say about once a year. The Internet company, Spectrum, recently hiked my rate up to $102, just for Internet alone. I detest that but don't have good alternatives locally. I will have to put up with drastically slower speeds if I choose a competitor. Yet, I may do that next year, because I think $102 is outrageous. I don't use the Internet that much.

I must confess I get a bit panicky now when the Internet goes out. That's a bit worrisome isn't it? I really do feel very reliant on it.

I reckon all hell would break loose if there was a serious regional or even global outage. Better hope those Russians don't get to the undersea cables.
