There is no shortage of human beings in this world. You have to wonder what future kids will grow up to be. My guess is soldiers on the front line in "human wave assaults" against drones and robots using machine guns and grenades. The average salary for a human soldier will consist of three meals per day, while serving and nothing when not serving. I think the Ukraine war was an eye-opener on the future of human existence.

AI will steal all the jobs away. Already, my job could be done by a kid with a working knowledge of how to use ChatGPT. Eventually, there will not be any jobs except manual labor and skilled labor, because robot tech is still primitive. Once robots get going mainstream, then no more manual labor or skilled labor jobs, either.

The only thing left as a viable occupation will be "human wave assaults" against fortified positions, in which 99.9% of the battalion gets wiped out by machine gun fire. The purpose of these assaults will be to reduce the amount of available ammunition of the defense.

Forget the promise of progress and understanding, for in the grim darkness of the far future there is only war. There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting gods.

Probably a lot more opportunity than we can imagine.

Most kids are not going to have a clue how to take care of themselves in this world when they grow up. Their parents are too terrified to let them be independent. Their immune systems will be so weak they won't be able to go anywhere unless they're in a bubble or something to protect them from germs, and they won't be able to eat and digest most kinds of food. But that's okay because the air won't be breathable and the crops will all be dead. They'll have to stay in bubbles just to be able breathe and there won't be any wheat or dairy or nuts they could be severely intolerant to.

That's my theory, anyway. Adults have been wrong before. When I was a kid they said we were all going to grow up deaf from listening to loud rock music. I'm 50 and it wasn't until my ear exam last month that I was told I needed hearing aids. :)

That's what I foresee, because war is the natural state of mankind, not trade. I think China is preparing for only one thing, and it is not peaceful coexistence with the West.

My job does not matter; any job can be replaced by ChatGPT, right now, today, from doctor to lawyer to Indian chief. I do recommend you download the app to your phone if you have not done so already and use it on a daily basis. It is scary-good. You will see there is no need for human employees in any role except menial. Humans must mop the floors, and service the computers, and ensure continued electric supply. There are no jobs in the future.

It's tough but that's the way I see the future, I feel lucky to have been alive during relatively peaceful times, be grateful that all we have to complain about are nitwit ineffective politicians right now.

My recommendation is enjoy and make the most of the present and don't count too much on the future.

If ChatGPT had written this message, then it would be a lot better. And more empathetic too. ChatGPT is definitely neurotypical and very good at manipulation.

I do it use in form on Copilot on daily basis; I am a web developer.

But it still cannot figure to do complicated stuff; I did use windsurf too and it requires hand-holding all the time.
But yeah, I am aware of the risks; and there’s so much denial in the dev community about it but I am not that optimistic; yes it cannot replace us yet, but with the production of the first quantum computer recently I can see to where we are heading. ANY job that can be done on a computer screen will be at risk.

And robots are happening too but will take much longer.

Hmm, the Dune saga sounds more realistic by the day.
