There was a time when Chinese were over-reproducing

https://www.foxnews.com/story/state-dep ... men-to-u-s

Quote:

State Department: Mao Zedong Offered to Send Millions of Chinese Women to U.S.

Amid a discussion of trade in 1973, Chairman Mao Zedong made what Secretary of State Henry A. Kissinger called a novel proposition: sending tens of thousands, even 10 million, Chinese women to the United States.

"You know, China is a very poor country," Mao said, according to a document released by the State Department's historian office. "We don't have much. What we have in excess is women. So if you want them we can give a few of those to you, some tens of thousands."

A few minutes later, Mao circled back to the offer. "Do you want our Chinese women?" he asked. "We can give you 10 million."

After Kissinger noted Mao was "improving his offer," the chairman said, "We have too many women ... They give birth to children and our children are too many."

"It is such a novel proposition," Kissinger replied in his discussion with Mao in Beijing. "We will have to study it."

I think it would be more accurate to say China believed that they were over-reproducing, rather than that China was over-reproducing.

In hindsight the efforts China took to reduce population growth probably weren't needed, although it might be unfair to expect them to realize this at the time.

Not really, they were over reproducing in the period after they solved the issues related to famine. The reason they're hs:they problems now is because they managed to change the culture so people aren't even interested in having the little over 2 children per couple to maintain the population. This is unlikely to have happened so soon without the efforts to reduce the population growth.

Back in the day, a lot of people were concerned with over-population, as reflected in the movie Soylent Green.

Yes, I think the big difference now is that we know that childhood mortality rates and economic security were significant driving factors behind having large numbers of kids. And with both India and China progressing, I may live to see the first decline in world population in centuries.

Also, in some parts of the world, people still rely upon their children to support them in old age. The more children, the more likely it will be that at least one of them will strike it rich, or at least bring in enough of an income to support you.

In China, I think that it is still customary for people at least to give money to their parents. But, public pensions have reduced the direness of the necessity.

 China’s Crimes Against Humanity

And just where is China (PRC) going to get "Love Teachers"?

I guess they'll have to import them.

I remember Soylent Green.
Flavourful little triangles of green.
Of course, marketing probably wouldn't use triarylmethane green in 2024, I'm thinking sunset yellow or tartrazine.
Then they would look like bacon Doritos.

Hang on...

I think China lost the plot with trade war with Mr. Fidel Castro

China was supposed to halt all chips and parts to Japan to end business relations, so Japan can't leave in future....(don't need to bomb them) if applied that go USA may be reason, but cancelled even farm purchases so no income.
Going to have to find new customers, now.

Since everyone is broke and we discontinued Japan, have to now buy China.... So used tariff wars from USA against Japan.
Pending final decision on what to do, what to do.

But without war, don't have to replace all lost soldiers with babies, so focus on economics. The war in Ukraine dragged out long, but what annoys me more is Hungary's plans, being like Germany in middle Europe with industry is boring. I've lost my objective of recovering the land, going down to sea for day off. Even if trade that Bulgaria gave small sea access strip of land - it helps situation in exchange for France Italy joining BRICS.
Without Noah's objective I'm lost, it was the dream to finally have the land.
