How did you nail your job interview?

Prepared ahead by learning about the position and the company and thinking about answers and questions ahead of time even though only some of them came up, dressed well and arrived on time, was patient and honest and focused on listening and paying attention to the person I was interviewing with.
That was how I interviewed for the last job I got.

I wouldn't say I nailed it, exactly, but I got my current job by being knowledgable and experienced in the field.

When I was younger and less experienced, I would read up what I could find about the company, dress conservatively but comfortably, and allow time to find the place so I didn't arrive all breathless and sweaty. Then in the interview just fake confidence, give an honest answer to the questions, and avoid any negativity.

I still did badly in some interviews but brushed myself off and tried again. Persistence helps.

I dressed up, arrived on time, smiled and was friendly and polite. I also knew somebody that my future boss knew and that helped a good deal. It is a good idea to get to know folks and make a good impression by being nice to them. You never know when that sort of thing may pay off.
