What kind of stories do you have about breaking up with a friend and then getting back together?

To my recollection, that has never happened. There is not exactly a shortage of people in the world, and people just tend to move on and select another one.

Many years ago, when I was in my mid-twenties, I had a friend who occasionally got very mad at me and said she never wanted to talk to me again -- usually because she took offense at something I said, for reasons I found completely baffling. But then, several months later, she would get back in touch.

It helped a lot that she had an ex-lover who I was also on friendly terms with, and who occasionally helped to smooth things over between her and me.

I don't recall ever breaking up with a friend.
It's always been more of a ghosting.
I've occasionally tried reconnecting with what I thought were the closest, and I'll get some fake enthusiasm, but I'm immediately re-ghosted (that word seems a little self contradicting)
