Ah, yes. "Jesusland" where the rich control everything and are boastful of amassing massive wealth beyond any need and refuse to give up their possessions even though Jesus instructed all to do so and stated that it's easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than it is for a reach person to enter the kingdom of heaven. It's also going to be ruled by a bunch of fertility-obsessed weirdos, whereas Jesus was an apocalypticist and preached that there was no need, as the end times are near.

Look, I'm not going to say that this Jesus figure was great or anything, but these people aren't following him. I can say that for sure.

‘It’s bananas. It’s insane.’ Trump critics seethe over Greenland ambitions: "The U.S. president-elect has referred vaguely to “national security purposes” in explaining his fixation with owning the Arctic island," Politico, January 8, 2025:

Quote:

Donald Trump’s refusal to rule out invading Greenland or Panama has drawn ire from his critics, who derided the U.S. president-elect’s implied threats as “complete madness.”

“It’s bananas. It’s insane,” Democratic U.S. Representative Jim Himes told CNN, referring to Trump’s stated openness to using military force to take control of Greenland and the Panama Canal during a rambling Tuesday press conference.

“I can’t assure you — you’re talking about Panama and Greenland — no, I can’t assure you on either of those two,” Trump replied when asked if he would rule out using economic or military coercion to take control of the two territories.

Trump has amplified his calls for U.S. territorial expansion in recent weeks, flagging the mineral-rich Arctic island and the strategic Central American trade waterway as his top targets, as well as repeatedly suggesting — apparently in jest — that Canada should become the 51st U.S. state.

In regards to Greenland, he has ascribed his expansionist aims to concern for U.S. national security.

“We need Greenland for national security purposes,” he repeated during the Tuesday press conference. “People really don’t even know if Denmark has any legal right to [Greenland], but if they do they should give it up because we need it for national security.”

[...]

Trump’s repeated threats against U.S. allies since winning the Nov. 5 presidential election have rankled some Democratic lawmakers, including Himes.

“Denmark, which owns Greenland — I think that’s probably a fact that most Americans are learning — is a NATO ally. So it’s just complete madness from a national security standpoint, and it also is antagonizing,” fumed Himes, the U.S. representative for Connecticut’s 4th congressional district.

“We should not be gratuitously pissing these people off. Where is the economic benefit for the people who voted for Donald Trump when he’s off, you know, telling tales of Greenland and renaming the Gulf of Mexico?”

House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries took to X to express similar disapproval, writing: “House Democrats are focused on lowering the high cost of living in America. Not invading Greenland.”

But not all Democrats have come out against Trump’s expansionist vision for Greenland. Colorado Governor Jared Polis expressed openness to the plan, writing: “If it’s the choice of the people of Greenland to join the greatest country on earth, I would welcome them as our 53rd state, right after we admit Puerto Rico and Washington DC as states.”

Earlier on Tuesday, the president-elect’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., landed on the Arctic island and spent the day meeting with local residents, who he claimed were supportive of a U.S. takeover.

“Greenland loves America and Trump!! ! Incredible people with an equally awesome reception,” was how he captioned a photo with a group of people in MAGA gear and an American flag.

The president-elect called into a lunch his son was holding in the island’s capital, Nuuk, to reiterate his claim that Greenland “needs security for itself, and it also needs security very much for the world.”

I could only support the annexation of Canada and Greenland if we Americans get their social safety net, including universal healthcare. Or in other words, a Republican's nightmare!

Trump had ‘horrendous’ call with Danish PM over Greenland: Report

"The News

US President Donald Trump had a “fiery” and contentious phone call with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen last week, during which Trump insisted he was serious about taking over Greenland, European officials told the Financial Times.

The officials, who were not identified by the FT, said the conversation had gone very badly, with one describing it as “horrendous.” Another official said that Trump’s intention to take over Greenland was “serious, and potentially very dangerous.”

For weeks, Trump has voiced his interest in taking over Greenland, the Panama Canal, and Canada, in what analysts say reflect his hardball diplomacy. Frederiksen has asserted that Greenland, an autonomous Danish territory, is not for sale.

While her office dismissed the officials’ “interpretation” of the Trump call, one former Danish official told the FT that Trump also threatened to target Denmark with tariffs.

Trump’s critics have warned that his interest in Greenland — which occupies a strategically important position for the US — will destabilize the US alliance with Denmark, Semafor reported, while Trump allies argue that a bigger role for the US in Greenland would be vital to national security in countering Russia and China.

The call is “likely to deepen European concerns that Trump’s return to power will strain transatlantic ties more than ever,” the FT wrote, while Atlantic writer Anne Applebaum argued that for Denmark, “the most difficult aspect of the crisis is not the need to prepare for an unspecified economic threat from a close ally, but the need to cope with a sudden sense of almost Kafkaesque absurdity.”
Know More

Since his first term as president, Trump has floated the idea of annexing Greenland to expand US access to crucial Arctic trading routes and vast mineral resources. But he has recently doubled down on the proposal and has not ruled out using force to conquer the island.

The president has also expressed interest in reclaiming the Panama Canal which he claims has unfairly given China economic and security advantages in the region."

I can't imagine not just hanging up on Loser Donald when he demands territorial concessions.

In the case of demented Donald Trump, I think the true patriots must be ready to oppose the insane decisions of our government.

I don't see Canadians or Greenlanders agreeing to be annexed, even if the US were to make radical improvements.

Both Greenland and Canada wish to remain sovereign as a matter of principle. Being annexed by a slightly less terrible version of the US is still bowing down to America's imperialist boot.

I'm sure you're right. Just dreaming about universal health care is all.

I get that, but it's still a bit offensive given that he might actually be dumb enough to try something.
