Terms and literary expressions in everyday communication

Hey! Welcome to the forum .
In my experience, using big words and sophisticated literary expressions can be off-putting to most neurotypical people because it can come across as conceited and arrogant, sorry to say.
The only exception I can think of is in the legal profession (which is one of the things that keeps me in the the court services profession, I have to say. Such cute archaisms too ).
Of course, you have a right to use whichever words you want. But just be aware of the effect this may have.
Hope this helps.
