Do you think what he says is true or are there exceptions to this rule?

I think there are exceptions to any rule. But for many men that are lifting weights I think he's got a point - a BMI around 24-26 could be a sweet spot. I have BMI 26,3 myself and would probably look better if I lost 3-4 kilos of fat. That said, I lift for strenght, not for looks.
