Next week. Which, coincidentally is also when my employment ends.

(Sarcasm) Gotta love temporary contracts.

Anyway, we've been talking online for about three weeks and I finally decided to ask her out. It's a little worrying to me that she's already mentioned her ex three times but swears that she's over her. Although I do get it, I mean they lived together for just under two years.

She's mentioned that she's not looking for anything long-term, which I respect. I mean, this is going to be our first date so I'm keeping expectations low. I don't think the vast majority of people on dating apps are looking for anything long-term.

At this point in my life, I just want to meet new people and go on dates. I'm completely inexperienced. Never even kissed anyone. I don’t think I'd really want to do anything beyond that at this stage.

Not really sure what to expect of this date. My friends say that no one really goes on dates for fun anymore, which if true, sounds awfully disappointing to me.

Thanks.

Also, update: My employment has been extended by a month! I was supposed to be finishing this week but life had a change of plans.

Huh. Well, at least I can job search whilst being employed for a little while longer.

Good news all round.

Your right to have realistic expectations. Its so common for people to build all sorts of idealised scenarios in their head.

Relax as best you can and just be yourself and Im sure it will be a worthwhile evening regardless of what the outcome is.

:)
