So basically kids in the USA are going to be brainwashed into worshiping Trump and thinking countries like Canada are the rabbit and USA is the fox that eats the rabbit and therefore Canada is weak and cowardly and they should hate it while a portrait of Trump looking like a cuddly old grandpa hangs in their classrooms.

Lovely. On the other hand, the personification of USA in Trump's version of sleeping Beauty as an extremely obese woman will be much more accurate.

Probably not into literally worshipping Trump, but you might find topics like slavery and The Trail of Tears reframed in a less critical light. Instead of teaching history, warts and all and covering the mistakes and failures as mistakes and failures they'll adopt a much more uncritical, jingoistic framing.

Family Guy summed it up perfectly:

But it's also how the MAGAs view what they consider "woke":

CRT (not taught in public schools anyway): "White Christian men are the cause of all the world's problems and should be punished for what their ancestors did for all eternity"

Biology: "Teaches people how to fornicate and that we're descended from monkeys"

LGBTQ+ issues: "Teaches people to hate Christians"

Physics: "Teaches 'lies' about the Earth's creation"

Political education Camps. ... :ninja: :skull: ......."How many fingers am I holding up ." George Orwells book 1984.

but have seen some people ,whom skated on a murder conviction. claiming to home school their children, that I personally knew . (before the murder of course). That could not recite the alphabit at 16 yrs of age . And the woman would say supportive things to them when they got away with stealing something from someone. Glad those peeps are long behind.

More directly
CRT: Hastening the great replacement
Biology: Don't reveal we share 50% of our DNA with a potato
LGBTQ+ issues: Hastening the great replacement
Physics: Actually this one they are on board. they believe in the big bang and that it was all Intelligent design - only just got the dates wrong - 6000 yrs Vs 14,000,000,000 years

I was already uncomfortable with how much patriotism is pushed in schools and how that informs what’s taught.

My son and I have talked a lot about patriotic indoctrination. I told him that it was up to him whether or not he chose to do the flag salute, for example, and said that I would talk to administration if it was something he didn’t want to do. He dislikes it and thinks it’s stupid but decided that it wasn’t worth pushing back against. Of course, now that he’s (temporarily?) switched to online, it’s a bit easier. He’s free to just roll his eyes whenever he’s confronted with something idiotic.

Australian public schools used to sing the national anthem and God save our precious Queen up to the mid-1970s.

I recall how one 19th century Australian political leader had referred to Queen Victoria as a bug eyed hausfrau.

Kinda complicated. In the 19th century there was a movement for federation from Britain, Australia remained a British colony till 1901. So during the 19th century there was some animosity toward the British crown. As part of federation in 1901, we agreed to remain under the British commonwealth and have the king as our head of state. the largely English colony (with a sizeable Irish/Scott minority) were largely happy to have the king as our head. As a school boy I knew the words to "Rule Britannia" and "God save our Queen".

I only know the lyrics to one version of God Save The Queen, and it's not the one we used as an anthem.

the S.pistols may have created controversy in 1977 but in 2002, the song was re-released to coincide with the Queen's Golden Jubilee, whereupon the single charted in the top 20. In 2012, it was announced that the single would be re-released on 28 May 2012, coinciding with the 35th anniversary of the original release and the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. Effectively its been appropriated by the British royal family as an unofficial anthem. Would not be surprised if William and Harry did their own rendition after a few pints.
