Just like in the title :)

Do you buy and own really expensive things, like let's say, cosmetics, clothes, jewellery, perfumes or whatever? I personally couldn't afford such expensive products but practically EVERYTHING I get is my contest winnings (I practically don't need to buy stuff for myself and mom now) and yes - in many cases those are expensive things indeed :) Like very expensive facial care creams for my mom :D Or jewellery for me :) Or - recently - I won an expensive set of Giorgio Armani perfumes for us both.

I buy silver and stocks which are fairly expensive for me.

I used to activately collect anime figures and plushies for the past 5 years. When I finally got a reality check I've decided to stop my luxury hobbies for now and try my best to budget.

I probably spent like around $2,000 total. Someday I am going to downsize my collection and sell my regrets. At least I can keep the items that spark me joy the most.

I buy thick, expensive bed sheets now because cheap ones tend to rot away in a couple of months in our climate, so the cheap ones are false economy.
Also, I buy very good quality shoes because they're comfortable and it makes more sense to have a couple of pair of good shoes I can wear everywhere rather than a lot of cheap ones I hardly wear at all.
Almost everything else I buy second hand.

I like to buy Lego. I buy the classic sets so that I can use my own imagination.

I volunteer at a Salvos store so often I'll buy from there. I bought a fridge for half price - $125 and it's very good quality with glass shelves and a stainless steel surface, I love it. I've also bought a two-seater lounge and four dining room chairs all for $360.

One thing I did spend a lot on - I went to a bedding shop and bought a new mattress for $1300. I think I was ripped off a bit but once I handed my card over the deal was done.

My computer is very old and second hand but it runs (although slowly). I'll probably buy another second hand one once Windows 11 becomes standard. I use Word a lot so I need Microsoft.

Depends, lol with some tech things I go more expensive like a bosie speaker for my t.v and a 9,000 dollar PC with my tax return, but yeah outside of the PC and Xbox series X I don't have anything even a little bit valuble, unless a mueseum would want to pay me for the very nice chunck of copper I have from lake superior when I used to live in duluth. interstingly the piece I found was shaped like lake superior but after keeping it so many years the chunck that make it look like that has fallen off. So to give it that look I have to show where the chunk came off but yeah idk how valuble that is I still have it and I dare sat it is a nicer specimen than the Denver museum of nature and science has, so for a time I have considered if I should give them my peice. LIke idk its copper and has like gems starting to grow in it and idk I have never wanted to give it up cause I Like how it looks but maybe everyone should be able to see it so maybe I should give to a museum. If theyd be interested in a nice thick copper float from minnasota that looks like lake superior if you put the broken peice back on right.

I've got until October I think before windows 10 goes
You could buy a network card & install it yourself assuming the system would have a spare slot. Network cards shouldn't be very expensive & there's probably lots of vids explaining how.

I spent a couple thousand on my current desktop which was probably at least 15 years ago & is a Dell. I selected the slowest processor & the least amount of ram at the time to save a little money & figured I could install that myself later. A month or so after I got it Dell was having a sale on ram sticks & I bought two 4gig sticks which cost me a couple hundred bucks more. It came with three 1g sticks & could support six 4g ones & buying the sticks then & installing myself was a bit cheaper than if I bought the system with 8 gigs of ram. Many years later I max out the ram & processor which was pretty cheap buying on Ebay. When I bought the system I was able to get financing interest free if I paid it off within six months & I made sure to pay at least a sixth each month. I would have just spent the money upfront otherwise. I had the money because it was shortly after I had quit working at my last job. My mom gripped a little about me spending money on that instead of giving her rent money to cover household expenses because I quit contributing once I quit working. I intended to give mom the computer I was using at the time which was a lot better than the one she had so mom didn't complain a lot about me buying a new desktop. The desktop I had was having problems playing higher quality videos & the file sharing programs I used made my system slower but it performed a lot better for my mom's uses at the time than the one she had been using. My current one was kind of top of the line when I got it & I also installed a couple slave hardrives for more storage space that I already had or bought later, got better video-card when the fan on my old vid-card cr@pped out, & I replaced the power-supply when that cr@pped out. My main uses these days are listening to music, web browsing type stuff, torrenting, & watching vids but it has a hard-time playing higher def vids like 4k. I want to get a new desktop before it majorly cr@ps out but I have very little money & don't want to get something cheap & deal with a cheaper system cr@ping out once I finally get the hang of a newer operating system. I want to get something really good & then not have to worry about replacing it again for a long time.

Buying the computer was the last time I spent that much money on something for myself. I was born with various mental & physical disabilities & the three jobs I've had were just over federal minimum-wage. I was on SSI at the time & my SSI got reduced by 50% of my gross pay. I worked lots of overtime when I was allowed to partly because that was the only time while working when I felt I really came out ahead financially. I was giving my parents some of my work money partly because they were bringing me to & from work since I cant drive & that area is kind of rural & had no public transportation system & there is next to nothing as for as businesses or stores within 15 miles.

I didn't have lots of expensive stuff growing up. My parents were both lower-middle class who were very poor when they first got married & they stayed kind of frugal & saved a bit in various types of accounts. As a kid my main hobbies were playing with my toys & playing Super Nintendo & as a teen my main hobbies were listening to music & playing Nintendo 64. I watched lots of TV as a kid & teen as well but my parents were paying the cable bill anyway so the only extra cost for them was usually the power my TV used. Lots of my peers who's parents were in similar income brackets as my parents or a little less had lots more toys, video-games, & CDs than I did though I did have a bit. I've always been very picky about cloths & food but I go cheap. I wear plain basic short sleeved shirts & pants all the time at home & when going out in cooler weather I'll wear jeans & a jacket. As for food I really like fast-food, junk-food, sweets, & snacks type stuff. I also really like fried seafood when cooked certain ways but I haven't ate much of that since I moved from Louisiana to Vermont because it's not that good here.

I don't have a lot of personal stuff. About the only personal stuff I have besides what I mentioned & various essential household type stuff is a knife/blade collection that includes some various other melee weapons & also a crystal skull collection. I have a bit but most of that was fairly cheap & the birthday & Christmas money I get from my parents probably would have covered most of the cost. I haven't bought anything for like a year partly because I cant afford to though there's a bit or lots I'd like to get.

I really need to start being more physically active & look for a part-time job because me & my girlfriend have LOTS of debt partly due to the real inflation rising a lot faster than gov benefits do(she's disabled as well) & we have some medical related costs that aren't covered by our health insurance like supplements & some non-prescribed meds. I should be able to work some without it negatively affecting my benefits since my SSI switched to Social Security Disability about 14 years ago. The obs I had were menial labor stuff like dish-washing & custodial/floor cleaning & I'm majorly out of shape partly from being too sedentary so I need to gradually get in shape. I've been trying some to be more active but have a hard time starting the habit. I also have some allergy & skin issues I'm trying to get better managed right now.

Not really. My income isn't great, yet I always have money in the bank. I think that's because I've got used to acting like I'm destitute. The most expensive things I'm ever likely to buy are musical instruments, but I'm not the type who has £60,000 worth of guitars gathering dust on the wall. I buy instruments rarely, after months or even years of consideration, and with more thought to how much use I'll get out of them than how fancy they are. I replaced my electric piano last year - the old one had just died after 26 years of heavy use.

I have a very nice set of custom golf clubs as I'm much smaller than the average golfer and can easily afford them. :D

But I use cheap computers as I consider them disposable. The last one I bought was a Win 11 NUC or next unit of computing. A $170 box that I plug in a gaming keyboard, mouse, and 24 inch monitor. It is plenty fast. It replaced a $340 refurbished Win 10 i7 that lasted for five years.
